Dear Laju,
I lost my virginity at a young age but I’m a Christian now. But I still feel like no good man will ever love me.
There is no need to feel like no one will ever love you. I know of good guys, great guys- who have married ladies who weren’t virgins. Salmon, married Rahab the prostitute and they gave birth to Boaz. I know a pastor who married a lady with a promiscuous past and several abortions. If, because of your past, they feel you’re not good enough for them, then they are not good enough for you.
Gal 6:15 says
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation.
I usually ask people to replace the word ‘circumcision’ here with ‘virginity’ just to remind them that they are new in Christ. Jesus loved you while you were dead in trespasses and sins. A husband is supposed to love you as Christ loved the church. And regardless of what people say, there are good men out there.
If you’re a virgin, that is great, hold fast to that. But what defines you is Christ, not virginity or the lack thereof. You are forgiven, justified and made whole in Christ.
